SAMURAI PAPA

A few monts ago, Samurai Papa has opened a new location in Brooklyn.

As i always heard that Samurai Mama in Williamsburg was one of the japanese of New York, i was pretty happy to hear that it will open in my neighborhood in Bed Stuy.
You can go and eat at the restaurant but you will have to stand at the bar as the there are no seats.

The menu has a nice selection of traditional meals and i always have the vegetable ramen. Fresh and delicious, it comes with a get a side of dashi broth to dilute the ramen broth when you take away.

NEW YORK TRANSIT MUSEUM

A few weeks ago i went to the New York Transit Museum retracing the urban public transportation history.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but i was sure i’d like the vintage archives a lot.
You can see the evolution of cars, turnstiles, tokens, maps and more. There is as much as read as to look at.

I loved the old subways cars on the lower level, it shows all the trains from different eras.

You can go in and sit inside, it’s great to see the evolution in terms of aesthetic, use and colors. The 1900’s and 1960’s ones are pretty great.

I wish the trains would be back to an olschool look and colors, i’m sure it will make my commute so much nicer!
