It might sounds weird but i always find good inspiration in the New York subway, through its colors, textures, imperfections.

PHILIP GUSTON - HAUSER AND WIRTH

The gallery Hauser and Wirth in New York is now hosting the artist Philip Guston until the end of July.
Featuring 36 paintings and 53 drawings, from major museums to private collections.
I didn't know the artist's work and really enjoyed discovering his work. Between figuration and abstraction, i like the heavy thick colorful canvases he made and get inspired by the nice color palettes.
A room shows also as a serie of multiple frames of abstract forms presented together in a grid.
Have a look at their website for more pictures.
26 Apr – 29 Jul 2016, Hauser & Wirth New York, 18th Street

JOAQUIN TORRES-GARCIA

At my last Moma ’s visit, i could discover the work of JoaquÍn Torres- García.

The exhibition features his works from the late 19th century to 1940’s.

I really like the colors he used for some of his sculptures and minimalist paintings, part of cubism movement.

Until February 15th.

PICASSO SCULPTURES MOMA

A few weeks before, in between two collections, i went to Moma for the Picasso exhibition for an inspiration break.

I realized how little i knew from the artist and how much i like his work now.

The exhibition is focused on his sculptures, around 100 of them, along with some photographs and drawings.

I was amazed by the different materials, colors and technics he used, like all the chapters of his life.

Really nice selection.

Until February 7th.

INSPIRATIONAL SWISS MOUNTAINS

Mountains and celestial landscapes have always been some of my favorite inspiration.

I’ve recently discovered photographer Yuri Schmid on instagram and really loved these pictures of the Swiss mountains.

Look at his work and follow me as well on instagram if you haven’t done it yet!

RICHARD HAINES

A few days ago i went to see the small but charming exhibition of Richard Haines at Daniel Cooney gallery in New York.
After he moved to New York in 1975 for his illustration career, Richard Haines instead found a successful career as a fashion designer.
He collaborates with brands like Calvin Klein, Dries van Noten and Prada.

PIONEER WORKS

A few weeks ago, we decided to ride our bikes to red hook in Brooklyn and it was the perfect day to go visit the Pionner works, a really cool industrial art center.

The light was beautiful that day and we enjoyed a nice drink in the nice garden after a visit to the center.
At this time a few different artists were exposed such as Mathilde Roussel.

The center offers as well some events, make sure you check their website for some more infos with current exhibitions and more.
